Back when I was living in the state of Washington I bought a knife at a custom knife show that came unsharpened.  Apparently the knifemaker didn't want anyone getting cut while handling his knives.  At the time my knife sharpening skills were not all that great so I decided to have a professional sharpen it for me.  So I took my knife to Lyle Brunckhorst and he did an outstanding job.  You should check out his website below.  It has all kinds of information and he even has his own knifemaking school that you can enroll in.
